Spring Break

Spring break was tons of fun this year! We experienced every season as far as weather goes in that one week. We started our week swimming at our friends house. Cali enjoyed her first dip in the hot tub. She is going to be a fish for sure, that girls loves the water. It was a bit windy but we all managed to get a little sunburn. Too bad everyone had serious runny noses the rest of the week. Poor Cali got the worst of it! Many a night was spent with her and I sleeping sitting up in bed.

Monday morning we took off for Carlsbad Caverns. Going over the mountain we drove thru a snow storm, then it turned into rain. It was freezing wind at the top of the mountain by the entrance to the cave.  The cave was amazing!!! It is huge down there. The day after we walked in the boys were complaining about how sore their muscles were. It's a pretty steep walk down.

We had fun swimming at our hotel and jumping all over the beds. We let each kid choose a place to eat which is still ok, the rule is no McDonalds. We ended up at Wendy's, Ihop and KFC. I think I only cooked one meal at home the entire week, it was GLORIOUS!

 Wednesday we took the scenic route up to Ruidoso and went sledding. There was no snow on the ground any where but they have a man made sledding hill. The have a conveyor belt that you ride up to the top and about 6 different tracks to ride down. Loren, Cali and I sat bundled up and watched the boys tire themselves out. It was bright and sunny but it had the usual New Mexico spring time wind.

 Cali was too little for the hill but we would take turns helping the boys drag their tubes back to the belt so we put Cali in for a ride.

The next few days the weather warmed up and the wind stopped so we spent our time at White Sands and hiking at Oliver Lee.

Once again we found ourselves at our friends house swimming. With no wind it was much much nicer. Here is Cali enjoying the hot tub and her first ring pop. Loren is enjoying his too!
