Aquarium & Ward Christmas Party

Last week I took the boys to the Sealife aquarium next to Legoland. The boys have been asking to go for a while and it had a really good deal, so I took advantage. It was neat and the boys loved it. I was blown away at how small it was for how expensive it was. Remember I got a good deal, all I had to pay for was myself, and I am still complaining. It was pretty cool, but we won't be going back again unless it is free.

We also had our ward Christmas party last weekend. The primary kids were able to perform the nativity as part of the nights program. I must say that I love being with the little kids at church! The boys all dressed up as Shepard's. They sang 2 songs, Away in a manger and Christmas Bells with sign language. I love listening to Jaxon sing Christmas bells, it melts my heart. I was very nervous when I was received my calling to be the Primary president back in May. I still feel very inadequate, but I love the children and I love the gospel. It is fun to be more involved in what my kids are learning on Sunday. I can sing the songs with them and we can talk about sharing time and the lessons. It has been a blessing in our home.
After the program was over Santa came for a visit. It was so cool, instead of a goody bag all of the boys received a hotwheel car.
Santa is real, that is what my boys asked for!!!

Grandma & Grandpa Idaho

We were lucky enough to have my parents here for Thanksgiving week. This is the second year in a row they have come, I know I am spoiled. I can only explain this by saying that I am the only child that lives in a super desirable, sunny place where there is no snow to be found and shorts are an option all year round.
My kids love having Gma and Gpa around, and so do I! We had fun showing them more of the city. I must say that our favorite was going to La jolla shores. We took a bbq and fired up some hot dogs. The ones that the seagulls left for us to eat were great! The gulls were crazy food stealing machines that day. My dad and boys built a sandcastle which they enjoyed for about 1 picture and then it was destroyed in seconds.
Thanksgiving was a great day! Of course it was filled with lots of good food, great friends, and some wicked UNO playing. Brigg learned how to play and I think we made his year letting him play a big person game. His grin was ear to ear.
Friday morning my Mom and I ventured out to Target at o' dark thirty for some Christmas shopping. Next time I will read the map of the store a little better, but it was still a success.
Then I blinked and it was time for them to go home. My brothers and I surprised my parents with a night at the Venetian in Las Vegas. So we sent them out the door with a card and directions to the hotel, plus instructions of not opening the card until Vegas. My Mom made it 30 minutes into the drive before she opened the card, not bad Mom. My Dad also surprised my mom with tickets to Phantom at the Venetian.
I am glad that they were able to relax after a stay with our crazy, go all day crew.

The last practice was spent at Foster Freeze eating some ice cream instead of practicing.

This was Briggs first time playing soccer and the season was very interesting. The killer sharks did manage one win, thankfully. Brigg had a great time running around and making new friends because at his age that is what it is all about. I had a great time taking blades of grass and shoving them in my eyes. Man I sound so mean.

Not ashamed at all

30 years ago my mom and dad were staring at my dark black hair and wondering why they didn't have me sooner. I was such a joy, always pleasant, just a perfect kid. Then my blonde hair grew in and all that sweetness went flying out the window! I drove them crazy and back again maybe thousands of times.

We all survived and here I am today on that same crazy ride with my own 3 boys,

4 if you count Loren.

I feel so lucky.

We had a great week. Loren started on a new rotation this past week and lets just say that I LOVE IT! We have really enjoyed having him around. I think he was home every night for dinner, that is a first for us. I love my Hub! I don't like pumpkin guts, thankfully Loren is great with stuff like that.

Originally Jaxon was going to be a pirate but last minute he changed his mind and wanted to be Luigi. I am so glad he did, these 2 were a hit! Some random people out trick or treating asked if they could take their picture. Everyone commented on the costumes, it was actually pretty funny.

GOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!!!

Brigg scored his first goal to day, it was so awesome! Let's just say that his team is having fun, but the skills are really lacking. He plays on a team called the Killer Sharks, and it is his first year playing soccer so he is still figuring this sport out. We have had a few games so far and really the only thing he is been getting real good at is checking and body blocking the other team. Needless to say his team as not won any games until today. We played a team with a very similar lack of skill, so it was great for our guys to figure out what to do with out the ball being taking away. The Sharks were able to score 3 goals, one of which was Brigg's. The ball had been deflected by the goal keeper and Brigg was there to pound it in. I am not exaggerating either, normally he wiffs it or shanks it sideways. But this was a straight on, waist high kick right into the net. It was so cool to watch him, he acted like it was no big deal. Loren and I were pretty excited for him. After the game the first thing he wanted to do was call his grandparents to share the news with them. It was great!

We took the boys to Sea World this afternoon for the trick or treat event that they have. The boys wanted to wear their costumes but it was pretty warm, so I convinced them not to. My convincing was done in the form of a can of blue hair paint. We waited to put it on when we got there to protect my car seats from being exposed to fresh blue hair. Let me just say, that this stuff does not stay on like it used to. It was like powder, so either I got the real cheap stuff or they don't make it the way I remember.
Jaxon was very scared of it at first, and yes being the evil parents that we are we forced him into liking it. Which he did with the help of Brigg's hands around his neck.
Now my house is full of candy that I don't need to be eating.

A few things I have learned lately...

If you smack your kid in the head with a toothpaste tube, the back of it can split open and make a mess all over the place.
Tyden and silly putty do not mix.

I am sure that there is a better method than busting out the scissors to remove silly putty, but my patience was gone. I figured that it had been in is hair for about 2 hours because that is how long I new it was missing, so it was pretty smashed in there. Even after I cut it out there was still putty stuck to his head.

I do plan on leaving his hair like that. Tiny has a huge head and he would look terrible with a buzz cut. So instead he will look like a middle aged man with a bald spot.

Last week Az had fall break so we were lucky enough to have some visitors of the Spencer kind. Loren's parents flew in on Friday night and we did not stop until the following Friday morning. Loren was kind enough to invite me along when he went golfing with his dad. I was not very good, but I am sure that I will improve if I go again. Loren says that I was bad luck because he did not play very well. I think he was trying too hard to impress me.

Sunday night one of Loren's brothers and his fam came. We went to a pumpkin patch, Legoland, the Science Center and the Zoo. We went out to eat almost every night, and my kids were thrilled! I am so thankful that Loren got his residency in a place that people want to visit!

to the dogs

We just couldn't help ourselves, the boys were going nuts when they saw these cute puppies outside the store the other day. We looked at each other and decided that we needed to get a pit bull puppy for each of them.

Do people still say not in 2009? Well I do and I will say it again, NOT!

Our neighbors dogs had 9 puppies and our boys get to play with them every day. It is fun watching the kids run around and love up on the dogs. Brigg even gets to go over and help give the dogs a bath and feed them.

For the record I love dogs, I have a very soft place in my heart for them. Someday I would love to get one, but not today and not a pit bull.

On a funny note... we sent a picture to our parents and told them we got the boys 3 dogs.

Preschool for my Tyden

This is Tyden and one of his favorite buddies from church. They are so excited to be in school together, can't you tell?

Tyden has been so excited for his preschool to start. He is going to a school that is at the local high school. It is a training class for high school students who are interested in teaching. So they are learning under the direction of an actual teacher. It is 4 days a week for 3 hours each day. So it is just me and my little Jax. Yah, I know what you are thinking...
