Skate Park

On the side of our house is this driveway and it is perfect for riding bikes and scooters. There is a fence at the end so the kids can't escape. Here we are playing red light, green light on Saturday night. The kids loved it and so of course the 2 big kids had to have there own challenge.

The Harris family named it skate park and so it shall be.

The hotel is open.

Last Thursday our good friends Byron and Jana Harris and their 3 kids came for a visit. We had a blast!

Here we are in the trees at Balboa Park, great picture tree. Trying to get my boys to look at the camera and smile at the same time is harder than pulling out a tooth that is not even loose. Thankfully Byron and Jana know how to take a picture.

Here are our kids lined up in age order. Benson, Brigg, Clark, Tyden, Paige and Jaxon. We are hoping that Paige will choose one of my boys to marry so we can join our families someday.

This random guy at the beach brought his Iguana. He would walk out in the water and chucked his giant lizard out in the ocean and let him swim back to the beach. Where the Iguana would just sit and wait for his owner. Of course every kid on the beach wanted to touch it. Brigg and Benson were right up front. Guys and there lizards!

I finally figured out how to keep track off my boys, bury them! Tyden loved it. He was the first one in and the last one out. If only I could take sand with me to the grocery store.

Hills

So just up the hill from our house is a great park, and the church. So I decided to be a good mom and take the boys to the park and get some exercise and walk there. I love to walk. I push Jax and Tyden in the jogger and Brigg rides his bike. Sometimes I have to pull Brigg, when he gets tired or up a hill, with a rope so he can keep up. So off we go, I am thinking this won't be so bad. Let me tell you it is much steeper than it looks.

Here's the view and the sign alerting people to the steepness of the hill. Brigg had to walk down because he could not push on his breaks hard enough to go slow and feel safe.

So let me tell you how much my boys weigh so you can understand why the hill kicked my rear end. Brigg 45, Tyden 40, Jaxon 25. So I am pushing and pulling and extra 110 lbs. Plus bike, stroller, water bottle, snacks, sand toys, cell phone and camera. I will have to eat my Wheaties for the next trip.

The Beach

So here we are in San Diego. We took a break from the unpacking and took the boys to the beach Saturday night. I thought that the boys would think it was too cold and that they would be scared and not want to get in. Brigg was the only one with his suit on because he said he was listening to his brain, and his brain told him he wanted to play in the ocean. Needless to say we were very unprepared. One towel and 3 soaking wet kids. They loved it! Next time I will have things figured out a little better. I had to vacuum the seats in the car when we got home so that we did not track the sand to church with us the today. I cannot believe all the sand it gets everywhere. Today at church I looked at Tyden and the inside of his ear was lined with sand. Guess I better get used to it.

We are obviously still moving in so I will take some pics of our home in a few days.

Do I laugh or cry?

These are obviously not my boys, but I believe it is definitely something they are capable of. I had one of those days when you feel like the worst mom in the world. Let's just say I was really struggling at being a married, single mom today. So I thought is was quite funny to find an email from my brother with these pictures. Boys being boys, how appropriate for my day.

Here are some more fun things from the email...

more interesting things you find out when you have sons, like...

1.) A king size water bed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep.

2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite. 3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.

5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words 'uh oh', it's already too late.

8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.

10.) Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old Boy.

11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.

12.) Super glue is forever.

13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

15.) VCR's do not eject 'PB & J' sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.

19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.

20.) The fire department in Austin , TX has a 5-minute response time.

21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

22.) It will, however, make cats dizzy.

23.) Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

24.) 80% of Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.

25.) 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.

The hose leaks and makes this huge mess of a mud puddle,

but the kids don't seem to mind.
